Nature

The region is surrounded by the highest peeks of the country, there is still unspoiled nature, lakes, hundreds of kilometers of marked hiking tracks...it is a paradise for hikers.
Further there are the breathtaking caves of Demänovská dolina, the waterfall of Lúčky, the canyon of Prosiek.

Winter sports

Slovakia is for many an unknown destination for winter sports. It is a perfect place the more “recreational” skiers, also for the beginners, or for people who just want to enjoy snow.

The Liptov region has in average 120 days of snow, and the best conditions are from half of December till minimum end of March. The best places for wintersports are the resorts Jasná, Skipark Ružomberok, parksnow Donovaly and parksnow Štrbské pleso.

Folklore

Folklore traditions are still alive in the region. You will notice them in daily life but also on the different folklore festivals, mostly in summer.The largest festival of the country, Východná folklore festival, takes place during the first weekend of July.

In the summer season hotel Sojka organizes once a week a folklore evening with live folklore music.
