Relax hotel Sojka

Spend your holiday with a Belgian-Slovakian couple

Hotel Sojka, Malatiny

Relax hotel Sojka opened its door in March 2004. We are trying to convince people to travel to Slovakia, to come and to explore this unknown pearl. Our goal is to offer a combination of good quality, perfect services, correct and useful information in a pleasant atmosphere.

With us you don’t just come to visit a country or a region, you come to „live“ in Liptov. To spend a holiday in Slovakia is possible all year round. Every season has its beauties, its atmosphere.

Apart from hotel rooms we offer you restaurant, bar, terrace, sauna, children’s playground...

Relax hotel Sojka is one of the few hotels in Slovakia that offers ALL INCLUSIVE stays.

As of 2009 our hotel has expanded a little. We have built 12 new superior rooms, opened new wellness centre, indoor swimming pool with children's pool, congress room and new reception with a small souvenir shop, internet corner and offices. Our goal is to improve our services without losing the unique atmosphere.

We want to invite you to spend your holiday in Relax hotel Sojka. We will welcome you with Slovak hospitality but in your own language.

Where does the name Sojka come from?

Sojka

Gerdi explains:

Sojka is the Slovakian translation of a jay. It's a bird spread all over Europe and also very frequent in Slovakia.

Why did we choose for the name Sojka?

In Flemish, we call a jay "Vlaamse Gaai". It refers to Flanders, Gerdi's native region and makes the link between Flanders and Slovakia. The word "gaai" in Flemish refers to a person who is a bit crazy...maybe my decision to start something in Slovakia was also a bit crazy?

A jay is a bird always looking for something new, always curious, quite noisy and moving a bit clumsy? Maybe I have similar “qualities”?

Sojka, as a business name in Slovakia, is easy to pronounce for every nationality (compared to many other words in the Slovak language that are very hard to pronounce).
